PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate Hyderabad Metro Rail, Today

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 30 km-long first phase of the metro rail project of Hyderabad. The Hyderabad metro rail is of 30 km-long between Miyapur and Nagole which has 24 stations, would be launched at Miyapur station by the Prime Minister, Modi at 2:15 PM. Today on the inaugural of Hyderabad metro, Mr. Modi, and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will travel by the metro from Miyapur to Kukatpally, however, its commercial operations would start tomorrow. Information Technology Minister of Telangana, Mr. K. T. Rama Rao said that the Metro would run from 6 am to 10 pm initially and the timings would be rescheduled as per the depending on the traffic and demand.

Rama Rao also claimed that this project is the most innovative and largest project in public-private partnership (PPP) in the world. The minimum fare of Rs 10 for a distance of up to two km and the maximum fare is Rs 60 for a distance of more than 26 km has fixed by the concessionaire, L&T Metro Rail, (Hyderabad) Ltd.

A smart card was already launched for metro rail passengers on Sunday and the card would be used for multiple modes of transport in future, as said by Rama Rao. ‘T Savari’, a mobile application would also be launched which provides the quick interface for metro services.

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi also tweet and said, “Will be in Hyderabad today, where I inaugurate the Hyderabad Metro and take part in the @GES2017. The Summit, which is jointly hosted with the USA celebrates entrepreneurship. This year we are focussing on the theme ‘Women First, Prosperity for All.”
