Election results for Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh state assembly has started to pour in, with trends showing BJP forming government in both states. Gujarat has been a BJP stronghold for over 22 years and it seems it will remain so for the next upcoming 5 years. In Gujarat election 2017 both parties will be looking for domination in 182 seats, although a party needs at least half the number to win the elections which we will come to know once Gujarat election 2017 result is declared.

Recent Exit Polls results had already shown BJP a clear winner in both states with Congress running low on numbers. But Gujarat voting trends show Congress of being a valiant contender. Irony is Congress fared worse in constituencies where Rahul Gandhi held rallies as a part of political campaign.

Prem Kumar Dhumal is trailing behind by 1500 votes in Himachal.  It’ll be interesting to see if the results favour the BJP, after the corruption allegations that have been levelled against Virbhadra Singh, and Congress’ strengthen have weakened. The exit polls have also fallen in favour of BJP for the time being. Finally, the day has come when the fate of two states and top two political powers of India will be decided after State assembly election results will get declared today. General Assembly Election were held in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh in 2017 in December.
