Varun Dhawan reduced his fees by 50% for ‘October’

Varun Dhawan is certainly one of the biggest Hindi film star in the country now amongst the young actors. His film Judwaa 2 was the third biggest Hindi hit of the year despite of very poor critical response which suggests that he has a devoted fan following now, who will certainly show up for his film and later decide if they want to watch it for the second time or not. He is clearly balancing his massy stardom with niche audience as well by doing something which is generally referred to as sensible cinema.

Varun’s upcoming film is Shoojit Sircar’s ‘October’, which is essentially a romantic drama. They released the teaser on Valentine’s Day and it looked like a visual poetry in motion with music from none other than maestro AR Rahman. For Varun to get this type of vanity is a big deal and in order to make sure that he does not loose out on this opportunity he slashed his regular fees by 50% to make sure that the film does not go out of budget. October is rich in content but not in grandeur, which is why producer has to think of getting the money recovered from box office.

Twisting his fees for a project shows nothing but his sheer dedication to the project he is working for and how badly he wants it to be made. Shoojit’s last film ‘Piku’ starring Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan worked well on the box office and got a lot of critical acclaim, which has made him one of the most dependable directors in the country for his back to back brilliance. Varun has just got off from Judwaa 3 and his next two projects are content driven as he will start with ‘October’ in April to release Yash Raj Films ‘Sui Dhaaga’ in September in which his co-star is Anushka Sharma.
