Tubelight box office collection for the first day does not look very alluring. This is Salman’s Eid release this year. Lastly Salman was seen in the movie Sultan opposite Anushka Sharma. Tubelight is the movie set in 1962 Indo-China war and is an adaptation of Hollywood movie Little Boy. In the movie Salman plays the role of a disabled young man whose brother Sohail Khan goes on war and to get his brother back home he tries to end the war. This is the third movie of Salman and Kabir khan together after Ek Tha Tiger in 2012 and Bajrangi Bhaijaan in 2015.

The movie has released this Friday before Eid on 23 June 2017 in cinema halls all across the world. The movie has collected around 21 crore in India on its opening day. Which is much lower than his last three films opening day collection.

Tubelight vs Sultan vs Bajrangi Bhaijan vs Prem Ratan Dhan Payo

Sultan: 36 crore
Bajrangi Bhaijaan: 27 crore
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo: 40 crore

The movie could not even beat Dangal’s first day collection of 29 crore and lost halfway to Baahubali opening day collection of 41 crore.

Critic reviews have all been bashing the movie as one of Salman’s worst performance and Sohail’s best performance. Several critics have went on to say that Salman was a misfit for the role. With all these negative reviews going the round the numbers picking up is under scrutiny. Eid holiday is considered to be the big opening for the movie. Now its to wait and watch if the movie can pass through the continuous negative responses to achieve any thing bigger in the two holidays (Sunday and Monday) to come.
