Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty announced ‘Simba’ last year which will be produced by Karan Johar. Now, Sara Khan has joined the star cast of much awaited Simba with Ranveer Singh and it is a big deal to get to work in a Rohit Shetty film even before your first film is released. According to the announcements, Sara’s first film ‘Kedarnath’ is going to release on Christmas 2018 and oddly enough similar is the case for ‘Simba’, which is a clear sign that one of those films will move from their release date as they simply can’t clash now.
Simba is Ranveer’s first outing with blockbuster director Rohit Shetty and he will be essaying the role of a notorious cop in the film. Simba is the remake of a Telugu film called ‘Temper’, which stars NTR Jr. in the lead role. Temper was a massive hit and similar are the expectations from Simba because Ranveer has just delivered the biggest hit of his career by the name of Padmaavat in which he was hugely praised for his negative portrayal of Allaudin Khilji.
Rohit is also coming off a massive blockbuster by the name of Golmaal Again and stars are now aligned in the right position for them to work together. Ranveer is currently shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’, which will be released on 14 February, 2019. Post Gully Boy, he will start shooting for Simba as it has to release on already very crowded Christmas. Shahrukh Khan has already announced his upcoming film ‘Zero’ on Christmas and he has been a collaborative with both Karan and Rohit in the past. Now, some or the other film will have to move because debutante Sara’s two films can’t clash together. Apparently she initially said no to Karan Johar to star in Student of the Year 2 but now they are working together.
