Makers of Welcome to New York should try to understand that there is a direct co-relation between no script for the film and no collection on the box office. Karan Johar is a very successful producer himself and has been for 2 decades now and still did this film which has disaster written all over it or he would have seen it if there was something written in regards to this film in the first place. Almost half the industry has shown their face in this film including superstar Salman Khan and the film could only gross 75 lacs on the first day.
This, as a matter of fact is India’s first 3D comedy film and it is making sure that there won’t be a second because faith of audience is yet again shaken on Indian cinema. Karan Johar is present almost at all the summits and talks where he says that people are not going to the theaters anymore because better form of entertainment is available online for them hence Hind cinema should be more careful about the films they release but he is doing this catastrophe himself which has no spoke of being even marginally good.
There is no way this film can even recover it’s budget on box office as it is made and released on about 40 crores and 10 crores lifetime collection does not seem to be the fate of this one. However much the film grows, it will not do more than 6 crores by the end of weekend all things considered and there are continues films every week that people might want to see which means fate of this one is sealed as it is a legit disaster on the box office that no one will be speaking about as far as they still believe in cinema. Welcome to New York sadly is running in cinemas.
