Produced by Ajay Devgn, ‘Aapla Manus’ is renewed for a sequel after the success of the first part in the Marathi speaking belt of the country. Nana Patekar gave a power packed performance as senior inspector Maruti Ngargoje who will go on a new mission this time. To solve mysteries is the job of a police officer and on that basis this film could easily be a converted into a franchise like any detective story up and running in the world. Thematically it has become now adventures of Maruti which is more of his story than the victims.
Film was a huge success on the box office upon release and critical acclaim also came it’s way which is why perhaps makers are convinced to do a sequel. Film opened averagely in cinema halls but good word of mouth brought it to a point where it also rain housefull. It was Ajay’s first Marathi feature production and he saw a lot of scope in the director to green light this project in which he is not even starring. Satish Rajwade, who directed the first part is back on board to work up his directorial magic on part two as well.
Nana delivered the performance of a lifetime in this rather straight arrow character which was not filled with a lot of complexities but Patekar managed to get the nuances right. Nana is played a hard boy cop very many times in his career and therefore it was a challenge to make it new and thankfully he did not take it up. Nana did what he has been doing mostly in a similar line of characters for 20 years and the audience managed to fall for it yet again because of the charisma he possesses. Shooting of the film will start in sometime and release date is not announced yet.
