KV Vijayendra Prasad, a well known and established writer who has written blockbusters like the Bahubali franchise and the Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan will try his hand in film direction. The writer will make his directional debut in Hindi film industry with a patriotic drama which is expected to release this year. The writer has already directed a few Telgu movies like Rajanna (2011), Sri Krishna(2006), SriValli(2017). KV Vijayendra is the father of the director SS Rajamouli who directed Bahubali: The Beginning and Bahubali 2: The Conclusion under his banner.
The details of the film is not revealed yet but it is expected to release in the year 2018 itself. The fans are expecting a story of Bahubali-like proportions and it is expected, as the writer is well known for his scripts of several blockbuster movies and tv shows. There are news on social media that the Bollywood actor Sunny Deol will be starring in his debut hindi film but no official statement has turned up yet by the writer or the actor.
KV Vijayendra Prasad has many awards under his name, for his Telugu film Rajanna he won the Nandi Award for Best Feature Film in 2011. He was recently awarded with the Sony Guild Award and Filmfare Award for the best story for his works on Bahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan which became the year’s biggest blockbusters. His latest work includes the Tamil film Mersal which has become the 5th highest grossing South Indian film of all time, the movie is directed by Atlee and starred by Joseph Vijay and Samantha Akkineni, its music composition is done by AR Rahman. The film was considered a commercial success as it grossed 251 Crores worldwide, it was well received by the critics and the fans alike.
The 75 years old writer’s upcoming Hindi film is sure to make an impact in the film industry with its emotional story line and strong characters for which the writer is known by.
