Baadshah sings ‘Happy Happy’ for Irrfan Khan starrer ‘Blackmail’

Irrfan Khan starrer ‘Blackmail’ desperately wants to be a hit and T-Series will not stop till they put an unnecessary song in the film by a singer who is liked by the youth of this country. Blackmail is essentially a dark comedy about a husband who is blackmailing his own wife and her lover into giving him money and a plot like this does not require a bad song from the likes of someone who actually calls him Baadshah or a musician in the first place.

As T-Series released the video of this song, it is clear that this one is not going to be in the film but is more like a promotional video song which is only suppose to increase awareness of the film. Most of the times these songs work and they actually do get famous which helps the film but one can not hold this particular song in a high regard even if it is sung by an essentially hit singer. Baadshah has produced some hit songs in the past by doing apparently what works but this song has absolutely no class to it whatsoever.

Blackmail is directed by a man called Abhinay Deo, who has given us a cult film like ‘Delhi Belly’ in the pasta and he is dealing with the similar genre again. Irrfan is not exactly known for dark comedies but given his resume, he can practically pull off any role and the trailer looked really funny. The concept itself has never been explored before about a man being a blackmailer himself about the affair of his wife and ends up paying his own self. Catch in the film happens when other people get aware of him doing this thing and from there begins a series of coemdic events that are mostly set in a realistic environment.
