Padmavati Controversy: Man’s dead body found hanging from Nahargarh fort, Rajasthan

Padmavati Controversy has now taken a shocking, violent and deadly turn, as a man’s body was found hanging outside the Nahargarh fort in Rajasthan. Near the body, anti Padmavati slogans have been discovered, saying “Padmavati Protest” and “We don’t burn effigies, we hang people.” The body was spotted at around 6 am on Friday and the police are now investigating whether the man committed suicide or was murdered to set an example for the people still supporting the movie. What was once an angry, but almost peaceful protest has gotten much uglier, as the people are shocked about the death of a man, for a movie which anyone hasn’t even seen. The repercussion of such an act are going to be severe, whatever conclusion the doctors and police make further.

The fort has very high walls and covers a large area, so it is difficult to find out how the man was able to hang himself from the foothold without even being seen by anyone, but it has been speculated that he died sometime during the night, when there are fewer people present and there is darkness.

In another news regarding the movie, the Delhi High court has dismissed the plea against the movie, seeking the approval of three historians from colleges and a retired Judge, saying that such petition is hopeless and misconceived and could incite unwanted violence around the country.
