Sonam Kapoor launched Veere Di Wedding poster

Sonam Kapoor launched the poster of her next film post Padman called Veere Di Wedding. Veere Di Wedding stars Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar in the lead role. It has been a passion project for both Sonam and Kareena in order to get funding for this one. By Sonam’s own admission, producers did not want to invest in a film which was female centric. Sonam’s own sister Rhea Kapoor is serving as one of the producer of the film with Ekta Kapoor who runs Balaji motion pictures. Ekta also backed Lipstick Under my Burkha last year which was a female-centric film.

Veere Di Wedding also stars permanent roommates famed actor Sumeet Vyas as Kareena Kapoor’s love interest in the film. Sumeet is the only male protagonist in a film which is otherwise lead by female actors. Veere Di Wedding is a story which is based inside a wedding happening in Delhi and how different characters collide to learn some important life lessons and also entertain. Veere Di Wedding has finally decided a release date on June 1 after pushing their film 2 weeks ahead of it’s original schedule as Padmaavat is coming on January 25 destroying the entire domino of Hindi film releases.

Sonam has been quite vocal about being upset when the film was not getting financed and in one of her interviews she even mentioned that there is biased behavior towards the men in film industry as John Abraham and Varun Dhawan got four times the budget for Dishoom than what Sonam required for Veere Di Wedding. All the four ladies are in the poster indulged in their own activities and hiding their face with one or the other reason on purpose. Ekta Kapoor is known for backing female centrist content as she has build her career on television which is primarily ruled by women in India.
