Salman Khan shoots for Varun Dhawan’s Judwaa 2 leaves the young actor thrilled

So it is indeed stale news that David Dhawan is making a sequel to his hit action comedy, Judwaa, that released in 1997 and starred Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Rambha in lead roles. But what makes this project more exciting now is the fact that superstar Salman Khan is all set to make an appearance in the sequel, Judwaa 2 starring Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandes and Taapsee Pannu as the lead star-cast. Salman shot for his portion in the film a couple of days ago and Varun Dhawan is over the moon about this.

It is no hidden fact that Varun Dhawan idolizes Salman and for the young actor to be sharing screen space with his hero is extremely special. Infact, looking at Varun Dhawan’s career choices, it is safe to say that he is following the superstar’s footsteps and choosing roles that are mass entertainers and he focuses on children as his base fandom, just like Salman does. The superstar on the other hand, has been extremely supportive of new talent among the industry kids and has lent his constant support to the likes of Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan, nevermind the nepotism.

Varun Dhawan took to instagram and twitter to share his excitement about the latest addition to Judwaa 2. He wrote, “#Judwaa2 just got bigger. Shot with my childhood hero @BeingSalmanKhan. I’ve grown old but he is definitely the same. Can’t wait SEPT 29th”

While the makers of the film have not come out with any details about Salman’s role in the film, but nonetheless, fans of both the actors are jubilant, ever since Varun Dhawan posted the above pictures on social media.

What is interesting though is the fact that Judwaa (1997) was a remake of a telugu movie that came out in 1994 named Hello Brother. And this telugu flick was in turn based on a 1992 Jackie Chan film named Twin Dragons. And none of these were ‘official remakes’. They were blatant rip-offs with no permission sought from the original makers. Well, these are the ways of the Indian film industry.

Judwaa 2 has the same set of producer (Sajid Nadiadwala) and director (David Dhawan) jodi that made Judwaa in 1997. The music for the film will be composed by rapper Badshah and Tanishk Bagchi. Varun and his father have earlier collaborated together on the 2014 film Main Tera Hero that proved to be a hit at the box office. Here is hoping they are successful in their next venture too.
