Naseeruddin Shah is one actor known to strike a fine balance between mainstream cinema and meaningful parallel cinema, without his craft suffering in any way whatsoever. His acting skills are superlative in every sense of the word. Even though he has innumerable skilled performances and films to his credit, one film that stands out in the recent times is ‘A Wednesday’ directed by Neeraj Pandey that starred Naseer Sir as the ‘common man’ alongside police officer Anupam Kher. So, when news broke out that Naseeruddin Shah is all set to star in another Neeraj Pandey directorial, it left everybody ecstatic. The film in question is the Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Aiyaary, which is supposedly a crime drama.
Neeraj Pandey who is known for his directorial ventures like Special 26, Baby and M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story apart from ‘A Wednesday’, can be credited to have single handedly changed Akshay Kumar and his film choices of late. Most of this ‘Khiladi’ actor’s best films in the last few years have been with Neeraj Pandey and that says a lot about his talent and vision.
This highly efficient director took to his twitter account to announce the inclusion of Naseeruddin Shah to the star cast of his next film Aiyaary. He shared a picture of him hugging the actor on the film set and captioned it, “Happy to have him back on our sets. #Aiyaary #Mumbai #July”

Aiyaary highlights a real life incident and stars both Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee as Army officers who are extremely strong willed and determined in their pursuits and even though they might share different point of views they still stand correct in their own way of thinking. The film portrays their mentor-protege relationship in a unique way. Naseeruddin Shah’s role in the film has not been revealed yet and it will be interesting to see how he fits in to this dynamic.
Aiyaary will be shot in Kashmir, London, Mumbai as well as Delhi. Come back for more updates on this film that is scheduled for release on the republic day weekend of 2018.
