A Gentleman is the biggest release of the week in Hindi film industry. With this Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Babumoshai Bandookbaaz and YRF’s Qaidi Band are also releasing in cinemas. Last film of Siddharth Malhotra was Baar Baar Dekho and it had an opening day of 6.80 crores, which was alright. The opening of that film also has something to do with the fact that it had Katrina Kaif and Karan Johar as a producer. Siddharth is second time lucky with clutches because Fox is the producer behind it and Jacqueline Fernandez trends everyday.
Suniel Shetty will be seen in a film after a long time and scale of this film is pretty grand. Babumoshai has some sort of a buzz around it but won’t score more than 1.5 crores on an opening day because he is the flag bearer of this one. Nawazuddin’s best solo opening was Majhi-The Mountain Man which gathered around 1.40 crores, while Raman Raghav grossed 1 crore. Qaidi Band has no buzz around it which is uncanny because it is a YRF launch for the grandson of Raj Kapoor.
Qaidi Band will not even gross 1 crores on its opening day and it is safe to say that film will be a disaster at the box office. A Gentleman has only North Indian box office this week because Ajith’a Vivegam and Arjun Reddy are seen by almost everyone down south. It will be a surprise if A Gentleman does a cent more than 7 crores and eventually reach upto 20 crore when the weekend is done.
