The Fault in Our Stars Hindi remake: Sanjana Sanghi joins Sushant Singh Rajput as the lead

Sanjana Sanghi, who had a cameo in Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar, is going to play the lead role in the Hindi remake of the popular Hollywood movie The Fault in Our stars. Sushant Singh Rajput is going to play the male lead in the movie, which will deal with serious issues like Cancer, death and relationships. The Fault in Our Stars is a novel that was written by John Green and became an instant success Worldwide. The book launched a genre of itself, about teenagers dealing with serious issues like mental health, diseases and the importance of relationships in ones life.

The original The Fault in Our stars starred Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort, and was a box office smash. Shailene’s performance made an impact on the audiences, and the critics alike, who loved her portrayal and lack of vanity in the role of a cancer patient.

Although the protagonists are meant to be teenagers, both movies have cast more mature actors. Sushant Singh Rajput is 32 years old, which is a little too old for the story, but if the direction and the script are good enough, the movie could be a success too. All eyes will be on Sanjana, however, as the book is told from her perspective. It is scheduled to start shooting later this year.
