Deepika Padukone, the star of Padmaavat, reached Siddhivinayak Temple to seek blessings for her movie. She was thronged by heavy mob and security, and looked gorgeous in a simple, traditional attire. She has been in the center of the controversy that has been raging around the movie, and she was the first one speak about the fringe groups that were protesting to stop its release and chop off her nose. She had said that no one could stop the movie from releasing, for which she had been shamed from the Karni Sena members and a even a bounty was also sent on her head with the price of 10 crores. But now it seems that the actress will come out triumphant in the end, as the Supreme Court has rejected every petition to ban the movie, so it will be releasing nationwide on January 25, and it is every states’ responsibility to provide security to the cinema goers.
The early ticket bookings for the movie are being called historic, and some of the people from media who have watched the movie are calling Padmavati as Deepika’s best work to date and certainly award worthy. Still, there’s only two days left in the release of the movie and the Karni Sena have not backed down from their protests. Everyone is holding their breath for the movie, and as the quickly filling theater seats show, are not scared of the goons.
Deepika and her co-stars, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh have not promoted the movie because of the threats to their lives, but even so, the movie has been in news so much that almost everyone in India knows about it, and is excited to see it. Outside of India, the hype is even more, as people want to see what the fuss was about.
Deepika has always been a hard working actress, from the beginning there were always skeptics that doubted that she could even act, but she proved everyone wrong with great performances in Piku, Ram Leela, Cocktail, Tamasha. If the pre-view comments are true, she might have finally found her landmark role in Padmavati.
