A lethal bomb blast rocked the Pakistani city of Lahore on Monday. According to the reports around nine people were killed and many had been injured in this deadly attack. Senior police official Imran Awan said the bodies had been shifted to a hospital and some 15 others, including a policeman, had been injured, Dawn News reported.
As per the reports, the police picket was targeted. And it could be a suicide attack police said that they are investigating the area. The police officials who were assisting in a drive to clear unauthorised construction and the roadside temporary vendors appeared to be the target of the attack.
Police officials are now focusing on the people and families who are facing this deadly explosion. And they are investigating now whether it a terror attack or an accident. The area where the explosion took place was badly damaged by the explosion. According to Awan, an anti-encroachment drive was underway at the Kot Lakhpat vegetable market near Arfa Karim Software Technology Park when the explosion took place.
A fire erupted after the explosion. Glass panes of nearby buildings were shattered. The area where the blast took place is supposed to be one of the most secure neighbourhoods of Lahore, just 100 metres from Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s office.
Recently in the April, there were approximately six people were killed when a vehicle carrying government workers was targeted by a suicide attack in Lahore. While in the month of February around 13 people were killed when a suicide bomber targeted a protest demonstration in the heart of Lahore.
