The Congress party has appointed senior party leader and former Maharashtra Minister Balasaheb Thorat as chairman of the screening committee for the Gujarat Assembly elections.
The committee was constituted by Congress President Sonia Gandhi, said a party statement released by AICC General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi.
The others members of the committee are Ajay Lallu, Girish Chodankar and Meenakshi Natarajan.
The Gujarat elections are set to take place by the end of this year.
