Teaser of Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi is out now starring Paresh Rawal, Vir Das and Rishi Kapoor as primary star-cast. As the teaser of the film does not pack too much information about the plot but it seems as though Paresh Rawal and Rishi Kapoor are neighbors regionally belonging to Gujarat and Punjab respectively with cultural differences. Vir Das plays the son of Rishi Kapoor, who falls in love with the daughter of Paresh Rawal and hence comes the comedy of errors. Rawal plays an uptight Gujarati, who simply can’t get along with loud and tacky Punjabi culture.
On the other hand Rishi Kapoor is trying to take a step towards the friendship. Given the highly comedic star-cast film promises to be a light hearted, humble budgeted laugh riot of emotions. Vir Das is possibly seeing the best of his career these days with his passionately viewed Netflix special and sold out shows in America, his fan following has grown by a million folds. Sanjay Chhel is directing this film after his first directorial venture Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam in 2008.
Sanjay has been a story, screenplay and lyrics writer for over 2 decades now and it took him 9 years to direct his second feature because Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam was a flop. Sanjay has recently served as one of the dialogue writer in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Indu Sarkar. Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi will release on 15 September, 2017.
