Shivrajkumar’s movie Mass Leader is released after a dispute between the director A M R Ramesh and producer Tarun Shivappa was resolved with both sides satisfied by the producer K Manju. The trailers and teasers for the movie had attracted a lot of attention from fans, and the makers of the film expecting it to be a hit. The disputes led director A M R Ramesh to approached the court seeking a stay on the release of the film as he registered the title Mass Leader with the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. However, it has been confirmed that K Manju intervened successfully and managed to calm some frayed tempers. Some of the musical numbers from the film like Ee Manninalli and Aabida Aabida have already ruled over music charts.

The plot of the movie revolves the character of Shivrajkumar who is an army officer stationed in Jammu and Kashmir, and represent a call for action to the common man who wants to protect and work for the country. The action-thriller will seek to explore serious and sensitive subjects, and according to its maker HS Murthy, he wanted to look at the life of soldiers who deal with terrorism and cross border incursions every day and hence break away from the typical formula, yet keep the film entertaining.

The movie has been shot over the last three months in various locations in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka as well as the Kashmir valley. The shooting was shifted to Manali after tensions reached a peak in the valley this summer. The film’s soundtrack and score were composed by Veer Samarth and the cinematography is by Guru Prashant Rai. Vijay Raghavendra, Yogesh, Gururaj Jaggesh, Sharmiela Mandre, Vamsi Krishna, Ashika Ranganath and Parinitha Kitty also feature in important roles in the film.
