Kajol, also known by her married name Kajol Devgan celebrates her 43 birthday today. Kajol is one of the most successful and respectable actress of all time in Hindi cinema. Started her career in the 90’s, Kajol rose to stardom with the smash hit Dillwale Dulhania le Jayenge in 1995 and later did superhits like Kuch Kuch hota hai and Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham. She is known especially for her constant collaborations with superstar Shahrukh Khan in the films like Baazigar, My Name is Khan and above mentioned Kuch Kuch hota hai and Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham. In 1999 she got married to Ajay Devgan despite the fact that the entire media criticized her for settling down while her career was at its peak.

Kajol has delivered several fantastic performances and won her first filmfare in Dilwale Dulhania le Jayenge portraying the character of Simran Singh. Her collaborations with Shahrukh Khan includes blockbuster Karan Arjun and latest of it being Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale. She is also known for her widely acclaimed performance in a 2006 release Fanaa, where she played a blind character who falls in love with a tour guide (Aamir Khan). Fanaa was a critical and commercial success therefore putting Kajol high on top of the pedestal of Hindi film actresses.

Kajol is known to play unconventional roles, one such was Mandira in My Name is Khan. In that film she plays the role of an entrepreneur who falls for an autistic man in San Francisco but deals with grief as her child gets killed in a racist attack post 9/11 in America. Latest release of her career is VIP 2 staring Dhanush, it is her 2nd Tamil film and expectations are sky high. VIP 2 will release on 11th august worldwide.
