Bahubali 2 mania : Movie breaks advance-booking record

The official countdown to the release of S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus Bahubali 2: The Conclusion  has begun and the Indian film industry insiders and trade analysts are waiting for this cinematic storm to sweep the box office. The buzz and anticipation around this movie is something Indian cine- goers have not witnessed before. With the first show of the film just a few hours away now, the anticipation among the viewers is reflecting at the ticket counters across the nation.

  • According to media reports and the officials at movie ticketing platform Book My Show, over one million tickets were sold within 24 hours after the bookings were opened. This sort of advance booking is unprecedented and Bahubali 2 has managed to break the record of Aamir Khan’s Dangal as far as pre- booking requests go.
  • Some theatres in Bengaluru, have hiked their ticket prices nearly three times and are still managing to have all shows sold out.
  • In the southern states of the country, there are shows planned for as early as 4 AM.

But as a sign of respect to Late Vinod Khanna, the event was called off. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about it.

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is all set to release in 9000 screens worldwide and for the millions of fans across the globe, this film will answer the mammoth question of ‘Why Kattappa Killed Baahubali’. The movie stars Prabhas in the titular role along with Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannah and Sathyaraj among others.
