UPSC preliminary answer sheets released

The Union Public Service Commission, UPSC, conducted Civil Services preliminary examination on Sunday, 18th June and proved to be very difficult than last year for the candidates who appeared. Candidates who manage to clear the preliminary, mains examination along with interview, will be considered eligible for in the Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Foreign Service(IFS) and also the Indian Police Service(IPS).

The preliminary examination consisted of two papers, one objective type and the other multiple choice questions: General Studies or Paper 1 and Aptitude or Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) or Paper 2. The GS paper has 100 questions carrying two marks each while the CSAT has 80 questions carrying 2.5 marks each.

Also their is a penalty of  33% marks out of the allocated marks for every wrong answer. As per the rules the CSAT paper(paper 2) is evaluated first and GS Paper or Paper 1 is evaluated once the candidates have qualified in Paper 2 or got 33% or 66 marks in CSAT. The names of the candidates are shortlisted for the mains on the basis of their scores in paper 1.

The examination is generally conducted in three stages including the prelims, mains and the interview rounds. The candidates who have appeared for the examination can cross check their answers with the help of the following answer sheets which has been disclosed by an unverified source:
