Paris terror attacks : ‘Jawad’, accused of harboring terrorists to appear in France court

Jawad Bendaoud, the landlord who provided his apartment to extremists who killed 130 people in November 2015 in Paris, will appear before anti-terrorism judges, media reports said. Bendaoud was charged with of “harbouring terrorists,” as magistrates believed he knew the identity of the extremists he accepted to host, according to a report on state-run France info radio reported on Friday. The man risked being jailed for ten years, it added.

Five days after 130 people were killed in France’s worst terror attack, on November 13, 2015, police killed Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the assaults’ presumed mastermind in Bendaoud’s flat in Saint-Denis, near Paris.

Bendaoud told French media, then, he had been asked to do a favour and had no idea his hosts were extremists, before being arrested, Xinhua news agency reported. The Islamic State claims responsibility of the Paris attacks which it called a revenge to French military operations against Muslims.
