NASA Insight Mission: More than 2.4 million names booked to land on Mars

More than 2.4 million people have booked a flight for Mars. As per the reports, around 2,429,807 people have booked their flight to Mars as they signed up to have their names on a microchip which NASA carried on upcoming Insights mission. The Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations Geodesy and Heat Transport mission to launch in May 2018. So, the people who have submitted their names are provided with the online boarding passes for the NASA mission. It’s not the first time, earlier also NASA has carried out the similar mission in 2015.

However, the US space agency has started the process of inviting people last month to send their names to Mars. Also, the NASA has tweeted and wrote thanks message to all of them for submitting their names to travel in the NASA’s insight. As per the reports, in 2015, around 827,000 names were registered by the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena California to send their names to robotic InSight lander.

The NASA said the journey to Mars will expand multiple missions. Also, the frequent flier points will help them to identify individual’s participation in this journey. As per the reports, NASA InSight mission is essentially launched with the aim to research Mars interiors deeply.
