Sunrisers Hyderabad vs. Kolkata Knight Riders match preview: Last match before the finale of IPL 2018

Sunrisers Hyderabad vs. Kolkata Knight Riders match preview: Last match before the finale of IPL 2018

Kane Williamson’s Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will face Dinesh Karthik-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Qualifier 2 on the grounds of Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The match will telecast live today from 07:00PM. SRH had suffered a defeat by the hands of their Rivals Chennai Superkings by 2 wickets in Qualifier 1 played at Wankhede, Mumbai. Hyderabad which had topped the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 point charts by scoring the highest points this season will get another chance to enter and play the finals. Whereas Kolkata defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 25 runs securing their spot in the second qualifier.

Hyderabad has been the ideal team this IPL, securing most points and topping the table, but since their last four matches the team is coming to a decline as they lost four consecutive matches. But in case of Kolkata it’s the exact opposite as their journey to the qualifiers in this season has been a zig-zagged line. They won and they lost a number of matches but Kartik’s team is on fire as they won matches four matches back to back. It is not wrong to say that KKR which has the poorest economy rate (9.07) rose up in the points table whereas with the best economy rate (7.88) SRH’s form has taken a dramatic fall.

KKR will have the home advantage at the Eden so SRH will have to play their best game till now if they wish to defeat the two time champions.

From KKR’s bowling side Kuldeep Yadav (16 wickets) and Piyush Chawla (13 wickets) will be leading the spin attacks while Russel and the young Prasidh Krishna will be the pacers for the team. Shubhman Gill, Nitish Rana and Skipper Dinesh Kartik will be the one to watch, each of them are in top of their form in the Riders’ batting line up.

SRH which has the best bowling side of IPL 2018, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar(8 wickets), Sandeep Sharma and the immensely talented Rashid Khan with 18 wickets. But Siddarth Kaul with 19 wickets and with SRH’s best bowler tag will be the one to look forward to. Clearly the bowling side of the SRH is incredibly strong and they have defeated top teams with their bowlers. But it’s their batting side and their middle order in general which they need to take care of if they wish to face Dhoni’s CSK in the finale of IPL 2018 in Mumbai.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Probable XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Shreevats Goswami, Kane Williamson, Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan, Shakib Al Hasan, Carlos Brathwaite, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, Siddarth Kaul

Kolkata Knight Riders’ Probable XI: Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn, Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik, Shubman Gill, Andre Russell, Javon Searles, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna.
