Sprinter Anas Yahiya breakes his own National Record

India’s sprinter Muhammad Anas Yahiya on Saturday made his new national record for the 400 meters in Cena Noveho Mastanad Metuji. Anas broke his own old record of 45.31s, taking the time of 45.24 seconds. He made this record in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games played in Australia’s Gold Coast this year, where he was in fourth place. The AFI wrote, “Congratulations on Mohammed Anas to break India’s record in the Czech Republic in 400 meters. After this performance, he became the third Indian to qualify for the Olympics in 400 meters. Before him, Milkha Singh and K.M. Binu had qualified for the Olympics.

The 400-meter final was won by Izak Makwala of Botswana and managed to capture the gold medal. Makwala took 45.09 seconds. At the same time, Babuloki Thebe of Botswana won Silver Medal with 45.09 secs. Third place was booked by Javon Francis of Jamaica. Francis took 45.11 seconds. On the other hand, Hima Das has managed to qualify in 400 meters women’s event.

Star Runner MR Poovamma also gave the country medal in women’s 400-meter race. Taking the time of 53.01 seconds, She took the gold medal in his name. Sprinter Rajiv Araokiya took the second position in the men’s 200 meters race, taking 20.77 seconds. Anas also congratulated AFI President Adil Sumariwala on social media.
