Ritu Phogat wins silver medal under-23 Senior World Wrestling Championship

Ritu Phogat won a silver medal for India under-23 Senior World Wrestling Championship at Poland. She is another Dangal girl after Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat who set fire on the mat. The 23-year-old Ritu Phogat had also won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship last year. And this year this girl set another victory with a silver medal after losing against Turkish Wrestler Demirhan in the gold medal she got silver for India. On Saturday, Ritu Phogat brought silver in the World U-23 Wrestling Championship in Poland of  48kg category.

This is India’s first silver in the prestigious World Wrestling Championship. In the quarterfinal in the championship, Ritu defeated Bulgarian Wrestler Selishka with 4-2 points before defeating Chinese Wrestler Jiang Zhu 4-3 points in the semi-final. Earlier this month, Dangal girl Ritu Phogat has also achieved National championship in Indore. And this year she also won a bronze medal at the Asian Championship.

Superhit Dangal girls are continuously set to gain achievements for India. Dangal was the blockbuster movie starring Aamir Khan based on the life of successful wrestlers of India Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat along with their father Mahavir Singh Phogat. Now, another sister Ritu Phogat of the popular wrestlers all set to achieve medals for India.
