Barcelona teammates of soccer ace Lionel Messi have already started arriving in Argentina ahead of the superstar striker’s lavish wedding celebrations. The player who shines with the ball by his feet appears to be marrying his childhood love Antonello Roccuzzo, and celebrity magazines have already dubbed the 29-year old as “the first lady of football” because her to-be husbend Lionel Messi, is widely considered as the best player on the planet.
The couple, who have two young children together, 4-year-old Thiago and 1-year-old Mateo, are reported to have planned a second wedding in Barcelona, home of the footballer’s team FC Barcelona, for friends who are unable to attend their South American celebrations. Antolnella also opened a luxury shoe shop in Spain this year along with her friend Sofia Balbi who is the wife of Messi’s Barcelona strike partner, Uruguay’s Luis Suarez.
About 250 guests, including some current and former teammates, are expected to attend the ceremony. Among those expected to attend are Barcelona teammates Neymar, Luis Suarez and Gerard Pique. Colombian singer Shakira, Pique’s wife, is also expected at the ceremony. Uruguayan pop bands Rombai and Marama and Argentina footballer Sergio Aguero’s singer-wife Karina are expected to perform. About 150 journalists will be allowed to cover the wedding under very strict rules, without any direct access to the ceremony or the party.
Messi and Roccuzzo have requested that wedding gifts come in the form of donations to the Leo Messi Foundation.
