Meet Rashid Khan, who got only 1 wicket and awarded as Man of the Match

In any match, players have to work very hard to win ‘Man of the Match’ or Man of the Series in any series. Players make plenty of runs to get these titles, perform well on the field or pick up wickets. But in a match of IPL 11, a bowler was given a man of the match by just one wicket. If the man of the match award given to a player after taking only one wicket in his four-over spell, then the question can be raised because a batsman of the same team played a magnificent inning in tough conditions, and more complex situation happened when opponent’s bowler took four wickets with a low economy rate. After this, the questions arise and stand up.

Eventually, these situations were seen in the seventh over of the IPL 2018, when a match was playing between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians. In this match, Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Mumbai Indians by one wicket. Shikhar Dhawan and Mumbai Indians’ favourite, Mayank Markandey, was the actual hero of the match because Dhawan made a fighting 45 runs, while Mayank Markande got four-wickets in his spell.

Between all this, Afghanistan star and Sunrisers Hyderabad spinner Rashid Khan was given the Man of the Match only after taking one wicket. Why were they given the man of the match? There is also a big reason behind this.

At Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians batted first, and scored 147 runs in twenty overs, Hyderabad won this game by one wicket. Rashid Khan received the Man of the Match award for this game. Interestingly, Rashid received this award in exchange for just one wicket. Apart from this, he became the first foreign player to settle this record in the IPL. Rashid Khan bowled four-overs of his quota in this match. In these four overs, he spent 13 runs while putting 18 dot balls. During this spell, he threw a ball wide. In this way, any batsman of the Mumbai Indians team could not make runs on these balls. That’s why he was awarded by the man of the match trophy.

However, Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank Markande were also the top contenders for this award, but it was Rashid Khan who wins the award, after and sensational performence over Mumbai Indians. Indian Turbnator Harbhajan Singh praised Rashid khan over this performence, on Twitter he compared Rashid Performence with World’s Legendary Spinner, Shane Warne.
