Khelo India School Games, PM inaugrates games at New Delhi

Khelo India School Games, are being held from today 31st January to 8th February, 2018 in New Delhi.which are a part of the Khelo India programme. Khelo India School Games is a part of the revamped National Programme for development of sports in India. Objective of this games are mass participation and promotion of excellence. For this event Under-17 players have been invited to take part across 16 sports, which are as follows: Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing,  Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Shooting, Swimming, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Judo,Volleyball, Weightlifting, and Wrestling.

Indian PM Narendra Modi today inaugrates KISG games at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi. There are 5 sports complex booked for these events, these are as below: 1) Jawahar Lal Nehru Sports Complex– it will host competitions in archery, athletics, football and kho-kho, 2) Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex– It will be venue for Badminton, basketball, boxing, gymnastics, judo, kabaddi, volleyball, weightlifting and wrestling, 3)  Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium- This will host hockey events of Khelo India. 4) Dr Karni Singh Shooting Ranges Complex- this will be the venue of the shooting events in the inaugural Khelo India School Games. 5) Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherje Swimming Pool Complex- It will host the swimming events of Khelo India Games.

C0ach Pullela Gopichand, Saina Nehwal, P V Sindhu also join the Opening of Khelo Games with former Champion Tintu luka and PT Usha. Pro-Kabaddi player Rahul chaudhary and Ajay thakur invited as a special appearance for Kabaddi players, while in Football, sensation Bhaichung Bhutia and captain Sunil chetri will lead Football team in Khelo India Games.

Star sports is the official live sponsor of these games , live coverage will be started today. athletics events will be covered from Day 1 to 3rd of february, while Football will covered from today to 4 of February. Some other events will also be held on the first week of february.
