IPL 2018, Will “Turbanator” Harbhajan singh break Lasith Malinga’s record?

Indian Legendary Off Spinner Harbhajan Singh AKA Turbanator is just 27 wickets away to break Yorker King Lasith Malinga’s record of taking highest wickets in Indian Premier League. Lasith Malinga has been appointed as a bowling mentor of Mumbai Indians Franchise, and he will join the team from tomorrow 30th March. Malinga is the highest wicket-taker bowler in IPL History, has taken 154 wickets in 110 matches. In 2011 season, Malinga was the purple cap holder by taking 28 wickets in IPL 5. Apart from Harbhajan, Spinner Amit Mishra is also in this race to become the highest wicket-taker in IPL. Mishra has taken 134 wickets in 126 matches with an economy of 7.41

Turbanator Harbhajan Singh, who has been picked by Chennai Super Kings on the first day of IPL Auction 2018, will lead the Chennai Spin attack, previously led by R.Ashwin. Kings XI Punjab bought R. Ashwin and gave them the captaincy of Franchise. Harbhajan Singh started his IPL Carrier with Mumbai Indians, after three games he was banned by IPL Commissioner due to an altercation with Sreesanth. In the next three seasons, he picked 12, 14, and 17 wickets respectively. In 2013, Bhajji was the third highest wicket-taker in IPL just before Dwayne Bravo(32) and James Faulkner(28). He completed his 100th IPL Wicket in 2015 and became the third spinner to complete 1000 wicket in IPL.

After spending ten seasons with Mumbai Indians, Bhajji Paaji will be seen in a new avatar in the 11th Season of the most popular league as he will don the yellow of two-time champions CSK. During his ten years with Mumbai Indians, the veteran spinner lifted the IPL Trophy as many as three times in 2013, 2015 and 2017 respectively. However, Mumbai opted to let go off Harbhajan in the IPL auction 2018 in January, and he was picked by CSK for Rs 2 Crore, which was his base price. Harbhajan will start his journey on 7th April by playing against his former team Mumbai Indians.
