IPL 2018 RR vs CSK, Jaipur: Inconsistent Rajasthan Royals hosts Chennai Super Kings must win encounter

Rajasthan Royals, who are in a very difficult situation, will have to go on the field against Chennai Super Kings at Sawai Man Singh Stadium on Friday. Rajasthan Royals have returned to victory after losing the three back-to-back games. But to keep the hopes of making a place in the play-off, Ajinkya Rahane led Rajasthan Royals will have to win against Superkings at anyhow. The defeat in this match will put the hosts out of the knockout race. Three successive defeats have almost decided the fortunes of the team, but despite this, the Royals team kept a modest expectation active by defeating Kings XI Punjab by 15 runs in the last match in Jaipur. The hosts have made their comeback on the field wherein the current season they have won three out of four matches and in Friday’s match, it will probably be in favour of the team.

Royals are suffering with the poor performance of their batsmen and bowlers in the current season. Apart from the Skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson, the team is experiencing the loss due to the poor performance of England all-rounder Ben Stokes and Rahul Tripathi, batsmen have to perform united against the super kings.

Batting is their strength

Chennai Super Kings, who are returning after two years of suspension, in the best form under captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni‘s leadership. The batsmen of Chennai are in the great form. Ambati Rayudu, Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo, Captain Dhoni and Suresh Raina have played fine innings from time to time to their team. Raidu, with 423 runs in 10 matches, is third in the list of highest run-getters in the current season.

Chennai’s Bowling Concern

The bowling of  Superkings hasn’t impressed very much til yet. Bowlers impressed though in the last match against the Royals Challengers Bangalore. Bowlers restrict the Royals Challenger Bangalore at 127 runs on nine wickets after winning by four wickets. Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja picked three for 18 while veteran Harbhajan Singh took two wickets for 22 runs. The fast bowling Trio of Lungi Ngidi, David Wiley and Shardul Thakur will have to take more responsibility in the absence of injured Ben Laughlin.
