India vs South Africa 5th ODI, Will Team India register their first victory at Port Elizabeth?

India vs South Africa 5th ODI will be played on the fast and dead pitch of St George’s park at Port Elizabeth. Team India is leading by 3-1 in this series so far. Team wins the first three matches of this series by massive difference, but in the 4th ODI South Africa backs in the series by a shocking victory over India. Now the 5th game of this series will be played on tomorrow 12 February at Port Elizabeth’s ground which has not been lucky for team India. Team India lost all the four matches in this ground under the captaincy of Mohammad Azharuddin, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. This park has not been a  happy ground for Indian batsmen as they failed to take the team total on the 200-run mark in all four ODIs India have played here.

Record at Port Elizabeth

Team Indian played their first ODI at this venue in 1992 under the captaincy of Mohammad Azharuddin. The team was bowled out for 147 and lost the match by six wickets. In 1997, under the captaincy of Sachin Tendulkar— team India played their second game on this ground and managed to score 179/9 in 50 overs. South Africa chased this target in 45.1 overs and maintained their excellent record over India on this ground. Third ODI on this ground was played in 2006, where South Africa set a score of 243 and India failed to chase this score and were skittled for 163. Latest meet between these two nations on this ground was held on 2011, under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni where Africa Thrashed India by 48 runs in that rain-affected D/L method game.

Tomorrow this ground will host the fifth match of this Bilateral series, and it will be the fifth match for Team India on this ground, where they will try to improve their record and seized this series. India is leading by 3-1 so far, and victory at Port Elizabeth can make them the winner of this series. Another side Africa will try to keep up their good record on this ground and will try to put pressure on Indian team by winning this game.
