India vs South Africa 5th ODI, Will Team India drop Rohit Sharma after his poor performance?

5th ODI between India vs South Africa will be played on tomorrow 12 February at the flat surface of Port Elizabeth. Team India is leading in this series by 3-1 but there is a bad thing for Team India, and that is– Form of Hitman’. India’s star opening batsmen and three Double century holder in ODI Rohit Sharma has scored just 40 runs in four matches of this series so far. Rohit scored these runs with a lower batting average of 10. He is struggling from the very first game of this series. Team India lost the 4th ODI by five wickets and gave the opportunity to Africa to come back in the series.

Performance Against South Africa(match by match)

From the start of this tour, Rohit is struggling with his batting performance. Rohit scored 20 runs in the first ODI and caught by De-cock due to his poor technique. In the second ODI, he did this mistake again and caught by Morkel. In Third ODI he failed to score and out for a duck, and In Fourth ODI he continued his poor performance and caught by Rabada on a straight hand catch. His record against SA, in SA, is also not good, Scored 126 runs in 11 innings at an average of 11.45 and at a far more dismal strike-rate of 53.41. This record shows the inconsistency of Rohit Sharma against South Africa.

On 5th ODI, With Rohit or Without Rohit?

Four matches of this series have been played so far, and India is leading by 3-1. They are just one step away from winning their First series victory in South Africa. Team Management is worried about Rohit’s current form because he did not give his contribution till yet. We all know that he is a star player and one match-winning inning could bring his form back. It’s a big tour and India would not like to give a golden opportunity to Proteas to come back in this series. Manish Pandey and Dinesh Karthik have not gotten a chance to perform in this series so far. Rohit Sharma’s poor performance can be good news for both these players. They might get a chance to play their first match of this Bilateral Series.
