India Vs Pakistan cricket match champions trophy 2017: Recap Of Last Five India-Pakistan Encounters Shows India Start As Favorites

The first match of the prestigious cricket Champions Trophy 2017 for powerhouse and favorites India will be against arch-rivals Pakistan, on June 3 in Edgbaston, and the old rivalry promises to bring some action packed cricket to fans early in the tournament. Sentiments have been on the high between the two nations this past year, and it is expected to spill on to field as the two teams clash for the first time this year. Defending champions India have dominated their subcontinental rivals in most of the previous encounters, all of them in ICC events as bilateral engagements have ceased owing to the tumultuous political climate of South Asia, winning four of the last five matches convincingly. The cricketing fortunes of the two teams have contrasted wildly in the last decade, and India will look to continue to dominate eight-placed Pakistan, who barely qualified for the tournament and will be looking to make the most of their outings in England.

We list here the results and summary of the last five encounters between the foes, in an effort to understand what the two teams will be facing upto when they meet at Edgbaston tomorrow.
