ICC Woman’s World Cup 2017: India eyes on semi-final berth

India will look to confirm their semifinal berth when they will take on the field against South Africa on Saturday in Leicester, by continuing their unbeaten run in the ongoing ICC Woman’s World Cup 2017.

Indian team has been unbeaten in the tournament in all the four matches they have played till now. India has defeated the hosts England, West Indies, arch-rival Pakistan and neighbor Sri Lanka in four matches. Apart from India, Australia is the only team in the tournament which has been unbeaten in the tournament after playing four matches, Australia is leading the points table with 8-points, India is just behind them with same points. While South Africa has won two of its matches out of four with one ended by producing no result.

Indian bowling is doing very good in the tournament, first they bowled out Pakistan at just 74 runs and in the previous match too they defended 232 runs against Sri Lanka. Indian spinner Ekta Bisht and Deepti Sharma has grabbed seven-wicket each and they are just behind South African Marizanne Kapp who is leading the table with 8-wickets.

While South African bowling will not be easy to bat against, they bowled out their opposition at the score of just 49 runs in the last. Indian batting has to get some kick against them, Smriti Mandhana and Captain Mithali Raj has been the only good performers for India with scoring 206 and 178 runs respectively.

After this match, the Indian team will have two matches to play in the group stage, one against mighty Austrailia and one against New Zealand who will be eager to get into semi-finals.
