ICC Woman’s World Cup 2017: India continues winning streak by crushing Pakistan

India continued their winning streak in ODI’s as they crushed Pakistan by 95 run in their third match of the ICC Woman’s World Cup 2017. It was India’s 17th consecutive ODI win. Indian Spinner Ekta Bisht took 5 wickets in the match while giving away just 18 runs in her 10 overs, It was Ekta’s second-best ODI haul. The left-arm spinner also registered India’s best figures in Women’s World Cup history to get Pakistan all out for an embarrassing 74 in 38.1 overs, after India were restricted to 169 on a slow Derby wicket.

Despite having pacers in the side, Mithali Raj gave the new ball to Ekta, following which she gave India a perfect start while defending a low score of 169, as she picked three- wickets iin her opening spell only.  Only two of Pakistan batters – opener Nahida Khan (23) and skipper Sana Mir (29) – managed a score in double figures, while four got out out on duck. Pakistan could managed to get only 20-runs at the loss of 4 wickets at the end of the powerplay, but that was 3-runs more than Indian score of 17/1, and at the end of 15 overs, Pakistan’s scorecard was reading 26/6. Opener Nahida Khan finally got out as the seventh-wicket of Pakistan in the 24th over. After her dismissal captain Sana Mir tried to fight a little bit but as she walked back into the pavilion India was the winner of the match.
Earliar, in the morning, the star of the last two matches, Smriti Mandhana got out early at the score of 2. Pakistan’s Baig made full use of the windy conditions with a tight opening spell, In her six overs spell, she bowled three-maiden over claiming the wicket of Mandhana. After that Deepti and Poonam put on a defiant 67-run partnership for the second wicket.  Indain captain Mithali Raj failed to contribute much with her batting after 9 innings. But due to the contribution of Wicket Keeper Sushma Verma’s contribution in the end India managed to get to the respectable total of 169/9.
Brief scores: India 169/9 in 50 overs (Punam Raut 47, Sushma Verma 33; Nashra Sandhu 4-26, Sadia Yousuf 2-30) beat Pakistan 74 in 38.1 overs (Sana Mir 29, Nahida Khan 23; Ekta Bisht 5-18) by 95 runs.
