Today on 24th February, Master-Blaster Sachin Tendulkar scored the first Double-century in One-Day cricket and established a new record in world cricket history. Former Indian Captain and highest Run Scorer in INTL cricket–Sachin Tendulkar faced 147 deliveries to complete his first Double-Ton in One-Day cricket. In 2010, During the second ODI of the Bilateral series in Gwalior, Tendulkar made this record. In this day he set-up another record of “to score a double century in ODI’s against a test playing nation”. Seven years ago, this story was written at Gwalior, when South Africa was come to India to play Three-ODI matches against India. Men in blue were leading in this series by 1-0, this is a right time for team India to seal the series and Sachin Tendulkar packed this gift for his team.

It was 24 February 2010, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was leading the Indian team. India won the toss and elected to bats first. It was a flat pitch, and everyone was predicting a high-scoring match on this ground. Opener Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar started the Indian Innings. Sachin begins his innings with a boundary over Dale Steyn. Non-Striker Virender Sehwag got out on Cheap at the score of 9. After the dismissal of Sehwag Sachin built a partnership of 194 runs with Dinesh Karthik, who also scored 79 runs in this match. He again developed a strong partnership of 81 runs with Yousuf Pathan. Sachin completed his 200 runs in 147 balls in the 44 over and became the first player in Cricket history to score Double Hundred in One-Day Cricket.

After one year, Batsmen Virender Sehwag broke his record and scored Second Double century in World Cricket. Virender Sehwag scored 219 runs against West Indies in 2011. There have been six double centuries scored on eight different occasions in One-Day Cricket so far. India is the top Nation in scoring most double centuries in One-Day cricket.
