On the seventh day of the CWG 2018, Indian shuttlers Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, HS Prannoy and Ruthvika Gadde has won their campaigns in the Round of 32 in their respective categories. The Indian badminton players gave an absolutely tremendous performance in the mixed-team event to win historic gold after beating three-times champion as well as the defending champions Malaysia 3-1 in the final. In the women’s singles, Olympic silver medallist P V Sindhu beat Fijji’s Andra Whiteside. Saina Nehwal beat South Africa’s Elsie De Villiers in straight two games respectively. In the men’s singles, Srikanth hunted Mauritius’ Aatish Lubah, while HS Prannoy chokes Mauritius’, Christopher Jean Paul.

Saina wraps the first game 21-3. It was like a practice session for the ace Indian shuttler. In the second game, In the second game, Saina started well as she takes a 7-0 lead as De Villiers struggles. It looks like she has already given up. Saina wins the game by 21-3, and 21-1 and Qualified for the Round-16 Event.
Kidambi Srikanth
Srikanth didn’t start pretty well. At one point, he was trailing by the Mauritian 6-3 at the start of his Round of 32 game. Then he takes 13-9 lead after winning six points in a row. The ace shuttler was getting in his groove. Srikanth takes the first game 21-13 against Aatish of Mauritius. The Indian shuttler Srikanth was looking relaxed as he takes instructions from coach Gopichand before the start of the next game. In the second game, Srikanth dominated the opponent fully, advanced to Round of 16 after wrapping up his match against Mauritius’ Aatish Lubah 21-13, 21-10 in just 26 minutes.

Olympic Medalist PV Sindhu wins the first game by 21-6 in nine minutes. Meanwhile, Ruthvika Gadde also sheltered her first game against Grace Atipaka 21-5 in eight minutes. The Indian shuttlers were on fire. Sindhu destroyed her opponent in the second game as well. She took 11-0 lead at mid-game interval lead in the second game, and after 18 minutes, Sindhu crushed her opponent and advances to Round of 16 after beating her opponent by 21-6, 21-3. That was brilliant by Olympic silver-medallist, who recovered from an ankle injury. Ruthvika Gadde also joins Saina, Srikanth as she advances to Round of 16 after beating Ghana’s Grace Atipaka 21-5, 21-7 in 18 minutes.
