India decimated Pakistan in 4th Match of Champions Trophy 2017 , which looked like a one sided affair and PAK team looked tired, unprepared, uncommited to face Indian team. Pakistan was all out in 33.4 with meager 164 runs , chasing India’s 319 runs in 48 overs. Pakistan suprisingly chose to field first despite winning the toss in batsmen favourable conditions.

India’s batting lineup was rock steady , with contributing runs from rohit sharma, virat kohli, shikhar dhawan and yuvraj singh ; ensured a decent total of 300+. After India made 319 in 48 overs bruising the Pakistan bowling lineup, which it was once known for, fate of the match was already decided in India’s favor. Pakistan batting lineup tried to tread cautiously initially but were caught in the whirlwind of Indian bowlers and the pressure of chasing a huge total.

Whereas batting friendly pitch required an extra effort from Bowling and Fielding unit, plus focused approach was required from batting lineup due to different environmental conditions from both the teams.

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan started slowly and ensured they didn’t lose their wickets early. Soon they pushed the run rate with quick singles and frequent boundaries. Rohit played a slow and steady inning of 91 runs and shikhar dhawan contributed fast 68 runs. Opening partnership of 136 runs was enough to cement a big score of 300+

After Shikhar got out in 24.3 , run rate started picking gradually due to a faster knock by Virat Kohli , of 81 runs at 119.11 run rate. Virat remained not out. Pattern was more forthcoming, more the wickets fell and much faster run rate increased. After Rohit Sharma was run out , high strided Yuvraj Singh started blazing away with the bat. Good thing for India is , his form is back , infact , it is much more mature and better then his predecessor form. Yuvraj quick 53 in 32 balls looked like he was playing with Pakistan bowlers and fielders.

6 Ball 20 Runs with 333.33 Strike Rate Slogging by Hardik Pandya , in slog overs, looked like a flogging on Pakistan’s bowlers who were already bruised. Overall India’s batting lineup didn’t lose any chance to  Pakistan batting lineup.

Mohd Amir and Shadab Khan in Pakistan’s bowling lineup , were the only two bowlers who were graceful and intelligent in their approach. Mohd Amir was pick of the bowlers in the match and is line and length was consistent , with frequent swing bowling at intervals. He was economical giving 32 runs in his 8.1 overs with an excellent economy of 3.91.  He had to leave the field as he was retired hurt.

Conditions were not favorable for Shadab Khan and dew factor also made him less potent , Still he did a decent job and tried to maintain line and length to restrict the batsmen. Shadab Khan gave 52 runs in his 10 overs , with an economy of 5.2 and striking wicket of Shikhar Dhawan on a hand slipped full toss.

Wahab Riaz , left arm fast bowler’s bowling was butchered by Indian batting lineup. In his 8.4 overs he conceded 87 runs , with a RPO of 10.03.

Pakistan was looking focused with 40 plus runs in 8 overs, with Azhar Ali and Ahemad Shehzad taking singles. Azhar Ali looked confident, whereas Ahemad Shehzad was nervous with lack of hand eye co-ordination making susceptible to fall early. Bhuvneshwar Kumar perfect line ball caught him by surprise , hitting on the pads and he was LBW, in 9th over of the match. Eventually it marked a spree of wickets tumbling in short interval.

Only two batsmen in the batting lineup, Azhar Ali (50) and Mohd Hafeez (33) , were able to contribute 30+ runs. Shoaib Malik started with confidence but final hopes of surviving defeat were dashed when he was run out by Ravindra Jadeja.

None of the Indian bowling conceded , average Run Per Over ( RPO ) of more then 5.37. Umesh Yadav was pick of the bowlers striking 3 wickets with 3.91 RPO , conceding 30 runs in 7.4 Overs. Interestingly and coincidently , Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja bowling stats are exactly same which reads , 43 runs conceded in 8 overs with 2 strikes.

Bhuvneswar Kumar had a decent spell of 5 overs , conceding 23 runs and striking a wicket. Bumrah was economical too , with 23 runs in his wicket less 5 overs.
