As the Indian cricket team took the field to further their title defence against the Bangladeshis in the semi finals of the Champions Trophy 2017, Twitter was abuzz with activity as the twitterati held their breath in anticipation on both sides of the border.
The tournament has been dominated by the subcontinental teams, and Bangladesh were a surprise entry from Group A to the semi-finals, knocking out New Zealand in their last semi final match to enter the lists. It was arguably Bangladesh cricket’s finest moment, and it seemed fit that they should face neighbours and cricket powerhouse India for the first time in a Champions Trophy match in a semi final match. India, on the other hand, had entered the semis after their last gasp victory over South Africa, effectively ending the Proteas campaign, with a 5 wicket victory.
Sachin Tendulkar Congrats the Indian team for their performance.
So proud. Congratulations team India. Great performance by @imVkohli, @ImRo45 & @SDhawan25! My best wishes for the finals against Pakistan.

As the match progressed, with Bangladesh giving away early advantage to Kedhar Jadhav’s golden hand that removed both the set batsmen Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim, there was much appreciation going around for the part time medium pacer.
That is just a brilliant spell from @JadhavKedar. Always tricky to keep a part-timer going but he has justified Kohli's faith.

Eventually, it was the Indian batting machine that claimed the match, as Kohli and Rohit Sharma took India home in 40 overs, with each of the batsmen getting big scores.
India's batting flexed its muscles. It got no reply from Bangladesh on a tough surface to bowl on.

8000 runs in 175 innings for @imVkohli. 4 of the fastest 6 are Indians. #BattingCountry. @sachin_rt, @SGanguly99 @msdhoni

While you celebrate this awesome batting quality, do remember the bowlers set it up…..

With the victory, India entered the final of the Champions Trophy for the fourth consecutive time. They will face arch rivals Pakistan, who recovered from their first match thrashing by India to win all of their subsequent matches in an impressive comeback. Their semi final victory against England was nothing short of an upset, as England had looked the most confident and dangerous of teams in the tournament. The mouth watering final has electrified fans, and is certainly going to be one of the most anticipated and watched finals of an ICC tournament in recent memory.
Got my wish hahah this gonna be exciting Pakistan ?? Vs India ?? when I was a kid I loved to see these two teams fight it out in Sharjah.
