Considering the huge loss of lives caused by the catastrophic floods in Kerala, Congress President Rahul Gandhi has announced that all MPs of the party, legislators, and members of the Legislative Council will donate their one month’s salary to help the flood victims of the state. In a meeting with the party’s general secretaries, state functionaries, state presidents and leaders of the legislative party, the Congress President also said that party leaders and workers should make every possible help to the people affected by floods in Kerala and some other states. Rahul has also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should declare the floods of Kerala as a national disaster. These committees will deliver relief material to Kerala flood victims. “According to information received from the Control Room of Kerala State Disaster Management, 194 people have been killed since August 8 so far.
