Rescue operations underway at the site where four storeys residential building collapsed in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. After the crash of this huge building the state disaster management force rushed to the site with at least 14 fire engines, rescue vans and ambulances. In this Ghatkopar building collapse incident, there are around 17 people including one infant have died. This rescue operation is going to save 30 to 40 people who trapped within the debris. Around 23 people were extricated from under the rubble, out of them twelve were
declared dead while eleven injured until 9 PM. Injured have been admitted in
various hospitals according to Mahesh Narvekar, (Head, Disaster Management
cell, Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation).

In Mumbai Two years ago the building was crashed at Borivli, Mahim, Mazgaon and, now Ghatkopar. This is all due to unauthorised Civic sources; the state government
had appointed a 10-member committee to formulate a strategy to prevent
collapses of buildings.
The overnight death toll in the building crash here shot up to 17. The Loud sound of people also screams within the building after the collapse.
