The flag carrier airline of the country, Air India has come forward with a monsoon offer called the Saavan Special 2017 Sale. Under this sales boosting promotional offer which will last until 21 June 2017, tickets are available on sale for as low as Rs.706 (Basic fare) applicable for a travel period between 1st July 2017 to 20th September 2017. According to the Air India website, for this offer to be applicable, even the return travel needs to be completed within the above mentioned period. Further, the offer is applicable on Air India flights only on limited sections in the domestic network and does not apply to International travel.

- Call Centre, and
- Authorized Travel Agents.
While the offer is attractive, the Air India officials have not disclosed the number of seats on offer but have made it clear that the offer is applicable only on a limited seats which will be allotted on a first come first serve basis. With summer coming to an end in majority of the country and educational institutions re-opening after the summer break, Monsoon is considered an off season for travelling but these sales have proven to mark an increase in the off season domestic travelling. The proof for this is said to be the percentage increase in the web airline searches for Indian cities, as compared to search numbers during this period last year.
Air India is not the only airline that has come up with such offers. Air Asia India, SpiceJet, IndiGo and Vistara too have come up with similar offers with prices starting from Rs. 1499, Rs.799, Rs.899 and Rs.849 respectively.
