Vishwakarma Puja 2017: Some facts to know about the rituals followed

Vishwakarma Puja is a Hindu festival that is also called Vishwakarma Diwas or Vishwakarma Jayanti. This year the festival has been celebrated on 17th September, 2017. This is because instead of celebrated from the lunar calender, the it is celebrated to the solar calender. The festival is celebrated on the day when Surya Bhagwan leaves Simha rashi and enters Kanya Rashi which is also known as Kanya Sankranti Diwas. On this year, the Vishwakarma or Biswakarma Puja was celebrated at the sunrise time at 6.17 AM and the sunset was at 6.24 PM. The Sankranti was observed at 12.45 AM.

Vishwakarma Puja which is also known as Biswakarma Puja is believed to be a Divine Engineer of the world. He is called the original creator of the world. People of all the factories, offices and other professional establishments. Vishwakarma Puja falls on the last day of the Bengali calender month Bhadra which is also named as Bhadra Sankranti or Kanya Sankranti.

Lord Vishwakarma who is also known as Brahma was also used for other gods too. In our Hindu Puranas, people believe Vishwakarma as the creator and is greatly worshipped. He is also known for building the heaven and also the city of Gold that is Lanka which was ruled by Ravana and was diminished by Hanuman. A good thing about this festival is that it unites the owners and laborers to have meal together.
