Varamahalakshmi festival 2017 to be celebrated on 4 August 2017

Varalakshmi Pooja 2017 will be celebrated in India on 4 August 2017.India is a region of festivals. Indian people celebrate numbers of festivals in different states of the country. Festival season starts from the month of Shrawan.  Varamahalakshmi Vrata is one of the Hindu festivals propitiate to the goddess Lakshmi (wife of Vishnu). It is an important pooja and vrat performed by married women in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for the well being of their husband. Varalakshmi is one who grants boons (Varam ). It is celebrated in the month of Shrawan or Aadi. It will be celebrated on 4 August 2017.

On this occasion, women worship Goddess Mahalakshmi offering sweets and flowers and place Kalash among the statue of Varalaxmi. They decorate temples with flowers and wear new saries and gold jewelry. Women do fasting for their husband’s and children’s healthy life. Worshiping Ashtalaksmi (eight goddesses of Wealth, Earth, Learning, Love, Fame, Peace, Pleasure, and Strength) is equivalent Worshiping of Goddess Varalakshmi.

Story of varamahalaxmi vart:

According to Hindu stories, many eras ago, there was a Brahmin woman called Charumathi in a town named Kundina. Churumati and her husband always did pray to goddess Laxmi one day the goddess Laxmi Impressed by their prayers and devotion to their family, Goddess Mahalakshmi came in her dream and told her to worship Vara-Lakshmi (Vara means boon, Lakshmi means goddess of wealth). Then Charumathi did same as goddess asked her to do and then goddess Varalakshmi appeared her and fulfills churumati’s all wishes and give blessing for her life.
