However, this is the tentative date as the actual date is contingent on the sighting of the moon of Dhul HijjahEid ul Adha is a festival celebrated among Muslims all over the world in remembrance of the sacrifice that Prophet Ibrahim (AS) made out of his strong faith in Allah (SWT). Ibrahim (AS) showed a willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail (AS) but his son was replaced with a lamb by Allah (SWT). Eid ul-Azha 2018 Dates

Eid-ul-Azha is known by many names. Eid ul-Azha is also known as Namkeen Eid, and this Eid is also known as Idade Karb. The meaning of Namkeen Eid is that it is celebrated with salty dishes. While being attached to the Korban, it is also called Ida Qurbaan. Children are usually called Bakra Id also. Generally, it is believed that this Id is related to goat(Bakra). In fact, ‘Bucker’ means the big beast, which was used to contest. Eid Qurba means the sacrifice. In Arabic, ‘curb’ is said to be close or too close. That is, on this occasion, God gets closer to man.

The Mughal emperor Jahangir used to celebrate Ida-Azhwah with their Riyaas (people). Non-Muslims would not mind, so on the day of Eid, the special pure Vaishnava meal was made for them in the court by the Hindu Marines. There is evidence that the tradition of celebrating Eid has been cast by the Mughals in India, hence, there is such a view in India today on Eid, as it is the whole India’s own festival of the year. This is the glorious tradition of Indian culture.

Eid ul-Zuha Importance

The first 10 days preceding Eid al-Azha have great significance as they are meant to encourage and motivate Muslims for Eid. A Muslim must do maximum Ibadat in these 10 days and then as an expression of reward, one celebrates Eid al-Adha. Eid ul-zuha is meant to make a Muslim more virtuous in his or her deeds. It should not be meant only to offer sacrifices; rather it is meant to learn hidden lessons of freedom from selfish desires and to elevate a Muslim from anything that hinders his ability to fulfill his responsibilities as a Muslim.
