Ganesh Chaturthi 2017 : Mumbai Lalbaugh Cha Raja first look revealed

The idol of Mumbai’s Lalbaugh Cha Raja was unveiled on Monday evening 7pm to the spectators and media as Ganesh Chaturthi is about to begin. The idol looks bigger and grand than ever. The festival will start from 25 August and will go on for 10 days. Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most important festival of south and central India in states like Mumbai, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana  etc.

The grandeur in the city of Mumbai is extraordinary, the whole city gets closed when Lalbaugh Cha Raja starts going through the streets into the sea. Anant Chaturdashi, the 10 and final day of Chaturdashi is when Visarjan (surrendering the idol in the sea) happens in the presence of Lakhs of people. Almost every household keeps a ganesh idol in their homes and do prayers everyday in the evening till the entire city goes to the sea on Anant Chaturdashi.

On the 10 and final day, the idol Lalbaugh Cha Raja is taken from Lower Parel to Juhu Beach which covers a big part of the city in order to engage Lakhs of people and end the festival with true spirit of festivity. Modak (sweet) and gold is given to the lord and in an unreal amount, Kilograms of gold just goes into the sea.
