Margashirsha Amavasya festival also known as Agnah Amavasya observed today across India. It marks the similar significance as the Kartik Amavasya. This Agnah Amavasya is a day of worshipping Lord Krishna and Goddess Lakshmi. On the eve of Margashirsha Amavasya, devotees worshipped their ancestors. According to Hindu mythology, devotees perform poojan, bathing, fast and remedies to bring wealth and happiness to their home. Also, they worship to get rid of Pitra Dosh, Childless Yoga and Rahu. Devotees perform special Yoga on this day to mark Margashirsha Amavasya.
The Saturn Amavasya is a special day to getting rid of all the flaws of Saturn. As per the astrologer, Margashirsha Amavasya falls when sun and moon are in one zodiac then Saturn falls which is popularly known as Saturn Amavasya. And on this day people who suffer from the wrath of Saturn will worship the God of justice.
On this day, Shani Dev gives grace, freedom, wealth and happiness to their devotees. So to get rid of Shani Dosh devotees can worship Lord Krishna and Goddess Laxmi along with God Shani Dev will provide wealth and health to devotees. They will light up the lamp of sesame oil and offer peepal leaves, roli and sandalwood. Devotees can bath in a holy river or in some Shani temple and offer oil to Saturn.
